First Tri-Component Machine

June, 2002-Hills, Inc. has shipped it’s first tri-component fiber spinning machine. The equipment was custom built for a customer in Asia to be used for research and product development. This is the first such machine in the world that utilizes thin distribution plate packs to allow the spinning of many different types of fiber composed of three polymers (see below) from the same equipment.

With the addition of additive systems on the three extruders for color and other additive inclusion, multi-component fiber of an almost endless variety can be spun on this equipment.
